Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends
I’m planning a trip to Morocco in the New Year and what better way to become familiar with the scents of such an exotic place than with Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends collection. The purveyors at Kiehl’s took their 260+ years of experience and hit the globe. Then, they created the Aromatic Blends collection featuring four fragrance-based sets inspired by their travels. Since I am Morocco-focused at the moment, I tried the Orange Flower and Lychee set.
The set, which can also be purchased a la carte, comes with a bottle of fragrance ($40, 30 ml), skin softening body lotion ($26) and skin softening body cleanser ($24). The Orange Flower and Lychee fragrance is a warm, unisex perfume with notes of bitter orange, and honey. The aroma is powerful upon application, but not in a lingering or heavy cloud and stays on for several hours. The Orange Flower and Lychee Skin Softening Lotion is modeled after Kiehl’s iconic Crème de Corps, providing excellent hydration without being greasy. I particularly liked this lotion post-shower on slightly damp skin. The Orange Flower and Lychee Skin Softening Body Cleanser was my favorite product in the set. The body wash lathered richly softening my skin, but the most excellent part was the exotic aroma that surrounds you during a steamy shower. You are instantly transported to the geographic origin of your particular set; you can visit lush Provence, a garden in Morocco, the jungles of Uganda or the serenity of a Japanese garden.
After being in business for two centuries, it’s refreshing to see Kiehl’s step out of their apothecary labs to bring us more; more of their consistency with a global twist.
