The Ifrane National Park is located in the Middle Atlas 60 km south of Fez and extends over an area of ​​51,800 hectares between 1300 and 2440 m altitude. It is the water tower of Morocco with large reserves of water. The park has beautiful forests (especially oaks and cedars) and is a major pastoralization extensive territory.
The park is home to over 1000 plant species, 250 endemic species and a rich fauna. The animal park is emblematic of the Barbary macaque (monkey baboon), but the park with its many lakes is an important refuge for migratory and wintering birds in the long term, it has a rich birdlife of over 200 species, including species rare.
The national park offers great hiking opportunities in diverse terrain: cedar, limestone, lakes, waterfalls ... In winter the park becomes a breeding ground for the practice of skiing.
A museum dedicated to Ifrane National Park (the National Park House) opened in Azrou.
